Our incense sticks are delicately and peacefully handcrafted by local Balinese incense artists with over 23 years of experience.

What is most interesting about our Bali team is that they always gather at 7 o’clock in the morning and practice yoga and meditation together for 2 hours. They believe that good work is done with a clean and comfortable heart and thus charge the incense sticks with positive energy. This is essentially healthy for the mind, the body and the spirit – a lesson to take for all of us, especially in projects we’re really passionate about.

Nourora’s products are then made using: bamboo sticks, different types of scented wood powders, on-site produced and distilled organic essential oils, local bee’s honey* and a wonderful selection of Indonesian flowers and herbs.

*honey is considered very precious in Bali and also the key ingredient of authentic incense sticks.

  • Types of wood we use to create the amazing scents and natural colors:
Agarwood, Sandalwood, Majegau Wood, Kiteja Wood
  • Types of organic essential oils:
Coffee, Jasmine, Eucalyptus, Ylang Ylang, Clove, Cinnamon, Patchouli, Strawberry, Orange, Lemongrass, Turmeric

The process of making Nourora incense sticks is intensive and requires skill and experience to create a high-quality product:

1. The traditional manufacturing process starts with the preparation of ingredients: in the workshop, the fragrant wood and frankincense are transformed into powder, and the bamboo is processed to obtain the support for the incense sticks.

2. A mixture of fragrant herbs, resins, oils, and other natural ingredients is prepared to create the desired scent. The ingredients are carefully mixed together with natural bee’s honey to create a paste.

3. The paste is turn into small pieces onto a little table rubbed with melted butter and rolled by hand on bamboo sticks. The surplus is removed manually and after that a wood powder is sprinkled on each incense stick, to make it less sticky when you take it out of the package.

4. The incense sticks are then carefully wrapped in paper bags containing 9 pieces. Each 2 of a kind paper bags are placed in Nourora’s sensual boxes. The boxes were created in such a way as to preserve the freshness of the incense for as long as possible. To achieve this, they are lined on the inside with an oil-resistant film.

5. Then Nourora’s boxes are shipped to Romania, verified and kept in optimal conditions before they reach you.
